Healthier Together Middlesbrough 0-19 Service

Healthier Together consists of Health Visitors and Early Years Practitioners for children 0-5 and their families. Once a child starts school their care is provided by School Nurses, Staff Nurses and School Nurse Assistants. Support is provided for children and young people age 5-19 (25 SEND) The service aims to help build parents’ confidence in their ability to give their child the best start in life and listen carefully when parents have concerns. We identify and build on what is going well, and provide information to help parents find their own solutions to problems where possible. We offer confidential health drop ins within secondary schools for young people. We provide expert health assessments, advice, support and interventions for babies, children, young people and families

  • Infant feeding/ specialist breast feeding support
  • Child development and developmental reviews
  • Growth and nutrition
  • Healthy eating / HENRY pogramme
  • Parenting and behavioural problem
  • Dental health
  • Postnatal depression and emotional well being
  • Toileting and bedwetting
  • Accident prevention
  • Speech and language development
  • Immunisations
  • Common childhood illness/infection
  • Supporting children and families with additional health needs or disability
  • Promoting healthy lifestyles in schools and communities through health education
  • Emotional health and wellbeing for children and young people

There is a duty Health Visitor and School Nurse available 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday

(The service is commissioned to be delivered to Middlesbrough children and young people by Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.)
