Troubled Families Middlesbrough
Troubled Families is a Government initiative which merges 'whole family' support packages and services from multiple Government departments and external agencies including:
- Children's Social Care
- 0-19 Service
- Jobcentre Plus
- Probation
- Prison Service
- Thirteen Housing
- Private landlords
- Schools
- Healthcare and treatment providers
- Prince's Trust / Talent Match
- National Careers Service
- Work Programme (Triage / Avanta)
To support families with multiple and complex needs. Support may include help in the following areas:
- employment / benefits support
- school attendance / child truancy
- child antisocial behaviour & crime
- adult ex-offenders
- drug & substance misuse
- domestic violence
- family support services
- job search support
- local training opportunities
- sick and disabled support
- finance and money
- expectant parents
- youth and family engagement

All of the above is available through 0-19 Service Centres and Community Hubs, which is where a vast majority of our practitioners are based. Practitioners also carry out home visits.
The Troubled Families Programme support the whole family by assigning a lead practitioner who coordinates all of the existing services involved with the family.
Referral form to be completed after a discussion with Customer Services or a Troubled Families Mentor.
Family / household must include at least two triggers from national criteria and at least one trigger from the local criteria.
