ESPA - Middlesbrough

ESPA College offers a full time educational provision in Middlesbrough for young people with autism. This builds on our success of supporting 15 learners at Middlesbrough College.

The service is based in My Place which is an outstanding community resource offering excellent classroom space alongside its extensive range of facilities. The students are supported by a highly skilled and experienced staff team.

ESPA College Myplace is situated in Middlesbrough very close to Middlesbrough College and Transporter Bridge.  The site offers places to students with high functioning autism, Aspergers Syndrome and related difficulties such as ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), mental health problems and anxiety.  A number of the students have been out of education and training for some time or had difficult experiences in education in the past and are now benefitting from our flexible and creative approaches to teaching and learning

Myplace offers each student a tailored autism specific curriculum with a strong focus on employability, independence and emotional literacy.  Students benefit from the small, safe and friendly environment where their confidence can grow as they work towards achieving their ambitions or study goals with support from experienced staff.  Students typically study from Entry Level to Level 2 with the option of gaining formal qualifications through distance learning or accessing a GFE College.
