Autism Hour at Middlesbrough Libraries

Middlesbrough Libraries are launching a weekly autism hour on Saturdays, 9.30am-10.30am at Middlesbrough Central Library.

During this hour library staff who have undergone Autism Awareness training will endeavour to make the building and facilities a more autism friendly environment. Lights will be dimmed and a quiet space will be available if needed.

Social stories and a floor plan of the lending library will be available to borrow at the library counter and the plans will also be available on the council website prior to a visit. Autism Awareness trained staff are ready to assist if required. 

Further autism friendly activities are planned for the future.
