Making Something Happen
We are a charity based in Teesside, working to raise time instead of money. We were founded in 2012.
We work with looked after children and pupils with special educational needs. We say “children” because we’re trying to work with people under 18 years of age who are in foster care. We say “pupils” because there is no age limit here, we just try to limit our involvement to people who are in some form of education here.
Our goal is to give the young people we work with access to three things:-
- Insight
- Inspiration
- Aspiration
In order to help them make informed choices about their careers, and to help them get started on the ladder.
We do this with a combination of organised visits to business, live speaking, content on the internet, CV and interview workshops and other things.
We distribute our services exclusively via schools and local authorities, and are focused solely on the North East of England, although our YouTube show, The Make Yourself Show has a broader reach on the internet.
