Private Day Nursery

Hello my name is Allison, my business is called Happy Little Sunbeams Day Nursery.  Over the years I have cared for children of all ages for and I have genuine caring and loving nature, the setting will provide a fully inclusive, fun, interesting, welcoming and warm environment for your child and I have kept it very home from home.

In order to settle your child into the setting we work with you to support this transition, offering 2 hours free settling in sessions. It is also important to us that you and your child feel comfortable prior to them starting the setting and throughout their stay. We will work together to ensure that your child achieves their full potential and prepare them for school and life in general and help them to gain in confidence.

We constantly communicate with parents via the Babys days computer system that we use in our nursery, we are paperless! you can download the app. you will receive daily diaries, photographs of your child enjoying their time, menu's and observations, the list is endless, this system has proven to be extremely beneficial in regard to working together with parents and showing parents how their child is developing within the setting.

Our staff

All staff are qualified in childcare and we operate Safer Recruitment, all staff have enhanced DBS checks and placed on the update service to ensure that they are updated annually, every staff member is qualified in two day paediatric first aid, they are safeguarding and child protection trained, they are trained to manage risks accordingly and provide the best care possible.  All our staff hold their food handling qualification.  Staff have teacher status, level 2 or level 3 childcare qualifications.

Our qualified cook Nicola prepares wonderful home cooked food and caters for all dietary needs.

What We Can Offer

We can provide a home from home experience for your child within our setting, the Nursery is based on Park Road North - off Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough.

We want to continue with what your child has learned from you as parent(s) know and to support any child or parent coming through our door and for them to feel part of the Happy Little Sunbeams family as many children have for many years previous. We have had some wonderful feedback from parents/carers on the progress their child has made since commencing the Nursery. We will do our very best to ensure that your child feels comfortable, safe and achieves the best they possibly can during their stay with us.

We will provide lots of wonderful activities, outings and groups e.g. sing and sign (we have professionals who attend during the week to teach the children sign language, dental hygiene and messy play). We strive to ensure that your child enjoys themselves and feels settled in our setting and that they have an excellent relationship with their key worker.  We are part of the NHS dental hygiene scheme.

We are also a member of the NDNA - National Day Nurseries Association.

We all adhere to the Early Years Foundation Stage and the 7 Areas of Learning, We incorporate the areas into the play and topics that we will cover to help your child to develop in the areas of learning to prepare them for school.

Prime Areas:

1 Personal, social & emotional development
2 Communication & Language
3 Physical Development

Specific Areas:

4 Literacy
5 Mathematics
6 Understanding the World
7 Expressive Arts & Designs

We will observe play/activity, assess their learning. then devise a plan for each child's development which will include;

Activities, play, topics, creativity, numbers, letters & words, role play and reading etc.

We have excellent relationships with all schools in the area and regularly liaise with our local schools for updates on the topics they are covering with the children. We do try to cover topics the schools are covering. We introduce new topics that will support each child with their individual learning and will ensure that your child will feel enjoyment, interest and gain in confidence, the activities will be challenging for them throughout their stay with us. We will keep you involved and provide you with updates by way of a daily diary, scrap book, learning journey and meetings/discussions, we will also have regular stay and play sessions that you can come along to and stay with us to enjoy a planned activity.

We have built up excellent relationships with schools that we are involved with including Green Lane Academy Primary, St Edwards Primary, Whinney Banks Primary, Newham Bridge Primary, Archibald, Abingdon and Sacred Heart school. We have been involved in transitions with schools for when a child is ready to leave our setting to attend their new school, making the whole process a smooth one, supporting and providing the child with role play in order to prepare them and visits to the school prior to them commencing. We provide the school with a plan of a child's learning and development and their next steps for future learning and development. This gives the school staff an idea of a child's ability and then school staff can continue the good work that both parents and our setting have already started.

Older children are welcome to our setting, we provide activities and games for older children and a chill out area if required to concentrate on their homework or read.

We have a huge collection of books, resources etc.
