* Liam's Story

Employment is what most young people hope for when they leave education. For many young people this can be challenging, and HEE’s Project Choice Supported Internship Programme is working alongside Middlesbrough Council to support young people aged 16-25 with Education,

Liam attended Beverley School and Sixth Form before starting a Supported Internship Programme with Project Choice in September 2019. He excelled in both of his work placements with Middlesbrough Council at Albert Park and Coulby Leisure Farm. Liam worked very hard in his work placements and education sessions and during the year his confidence improved greatly, learning many valuable work and independence skills.

Despite the Covid-19 restrictions and lockdown Liam continued to be supported by Project Choice staff in applying for jobs. Liam’s hard work, determination and great work ethic have paid off and he has now secured paid employment at SK Foods in Middlesbrough.

‘Well done Liam - we are all very proud of what you have achieved and wish you every success for your future’
