Sensory Processing Disorder - Parent Support Group (North East England)

SPD Group logo

Does your child dislike loud noises, touch, certain smells and tastes, have a poor sleep pattern or display frequent meltdowns at home or school?  They may have Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD).  SPD affects the seven sesnes; tactile, auditory, movement, muscle memory, visual, taste and smell.

We run a free parent support group based in Newton Aycliffe but have members all over the North East, UK and world.  Our group offers support, advice, networking, meetings, education and strategies for children with SPD.

The group meet every 4-6 weeks for a chat and enjoy some light refreshments, invite a guest speaker or conduct an activity with the children and their siblings.  We go trampolining, climbing, visit sensory rooms, scooter parks and are learning them to ride bicyles.  This is just the tip of the iceberg!

Why not join us and come along to one of our meetings where you will be most welcome. Even if you do not want to join the group events, we post daily tips to help families.
