Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) replaced Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and is available to eligible people aged 16 to 64 years. PIP is to help towards some of the extra costs arising from a health condition or disability. It is based on how a person's condition affects them, not the condition they have.
What you’ll get
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is usually paid every 4 weeks. It’s tax free and you can get it whether you’re in or out of work.
PIP is made up of 2 parts, Daily Living and Mobility. Whether you get one or both of these and how much you’ll get depends on how severely your condition affects you. You’ll need an assessment to work out the level of help you’ll get.

You can make a new Personal Independence Payment (PIP) claim by calling the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Someone else can call on your behalf, but you’ll need to be with them when they call. There are also other ways to claim if you find it difficult to use a telephone
