South Tees Youth Justice Service

South Tees Youth Justice Service is a multi-agency partnership, serving the Local Authority areas of Middlesbrough and Redcar and Cleveland. The Youth Justice Service undertakes the supervision of young people between the ages of 10 and 17 years who are subject of court orders and police-referred out-of-court disposals.
South Tees Youth Justice Service works as a partnership, with representatives from Cleveland Police, public health, Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland Children's Services departments, and the National Probation Service. The service includes staff specifically trained to work with young people who are involved with, or at risk of becoming involved with, the criminal justice system, including staff seconded from partner agencies.

Where a young offender is sentenced to a referral order, victims are encouraged to attend a youth offender panel, where they can meet the young person face to face and explain what impact the offender's behaviour has had on their life.
