Focus Day Training
A service providing mindfulness-based support for young people and their carers. We provide workshops and courses to teach people how to deal with stressful and difficult situations using the techniques from mindfulness based practices and discussions using evidence from neuro science. Many young people experience busy minds as they grow up and as a consequence this can create stress and anxiety. At present many schools do not teach the skills to be able to navigate through this difficult time in their lives.
Out trainer, Jonathan Lee is listed on the UK Mindfulness Teachers Listing which follows strict guidleline and training requirements. At present Jonathan is the only mindfulness teacher in the Teesside area with this level of training. He is also qualified to teach the '.b Mindfulness in Schools Course' which is our recommended course of choice for anyone aged beteween 11-18. For those with learning difficulties this is ideal up to the age of 25.
All courses and workshops can be delivered on site, at school or in an agreed venue. Courses can hold up to 20 people and smaller groups as well as 1:1 sessions.
Courses are also suitable for carers as a way to deal with the stressors of supporting young people.

- Other notes
Jonathan has experience with young people who have SEN and can design courses to fit as well as deliver existing courses and workshops in a differentiated way. For young people with anxiety issues we recommend smaller groups or 1:1 as too for those with Autism or Aspergers Syndrome. For those people with physical difficulties all our mindfulness-based support is done whilst sitting down.
Mindfulness can be especially useful for those who have a special educational need. Learning how to relax and accept things as they are can support the well-being and resilience of a young person. Being able to take time out in the week to focus on themselves in a non judgmental and kind way can help them to cultivate compassion towards themselves.
