Sara is incredibly proud of securing her first job at James Cook University Hospital.

Before starting her apprenticeship Sara completed a supported internship with Project Choice at the hospital which gave her the chance to experience different placements to find out what she liked best.

“I have learnt lots of things in my job role like how to communicate with other people, about confidentiality and about the different systems I need to use.”

Sara’s words of encouragement to other young people: “I can’t believe I am deaf and I am working in a hospital. I would encourage other young people to do the same and say how good it is for their future and not to give up.”
