At Great Expectations our passion is to provide a warm, welcoming, safe and stimulating environment in which every child will flourish and meet their full potential. By meeting the children's individual needs be that dietary, cultural, physical and emotional we ensure that we are building strong foundations for future learning and achieving throughout school and beyond.

Our provision caters for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, along with free funded places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds for those eligible. Dietary and cultural dietary needs are met through a fresh wholesome approach to meals which are cooked from scratch on the premises each day and meet the governments healthy guidelines for early years menus.

We work closely with inclusion support and speech and language to provide effective programmes for children who have additional needs. During the school holidays we provide a short break service for children with low end Autism.

We provide for children with various dietary needs such as lactose and dairy intolerance; specific allergies to certain foods and also cultural diets such as Halal and vegetarian. All meals are made to look the same despite using different ingredients so children do not feel they are different in any way.

The childcare provision has staff experienced in working with childen with additional needs such as global delay, speech and language delay, hearing impairments and low end Autism. Individual support plans are devised in partnership with parents and other professionals involved in the child's care to ensure learning is maximised and potential is reached.

A short break service is provided in the school holidays beween the hours of 9am and 3pm for children up to the age of 8 years with low end Autism. Fine motor activities, object labelling, safety awareness and following directions, along with sensory integration and modelling behaviour are used to help the children to make connections and assist them to generalise their skills.
