Local Offer

Description

The Occupational Therapy Service provide a team of specialist therapists and therapy assistants to provide assessment, treatment/intervention and advice to babies, children, young people and their families in a range of locations including home, school or hospital clinics.

The service will assess and treat children/young people, aged 0-19 who have long term health needs, physical disability, sensory difficulties, learning disabilities who have problems with movement and co-ordination.

We provide holistic therapy to maximise your child's engagement, achievement and independence in everyday activities to support them to reach their potential. This can be on a 1:1 basis, in a group, at home and/or in educational establishments.

Support can include provision and/or advice on specialist equipment/adaptations which are needed to support the child in their different environments e.g. adaptations to the school for physical access or sensory needs, pencil grips, special toileting arrangements, specialist IT equipment, seating, moving and handling equipment.

We work alongside other multidisciplinary professionals involved with the child or young person to ensure a holistic approach to treatment and assessment.
