Berwick Hills Children's Centre Consultation

Berwick Hills Children’s Centre has been open since 2005, initially sited within the TAD Centre, then moving to Berwick Hills Primary school in 2011. It ran there until 2018, when the school could no longer accommodate the Children's Centre, and the site was closed with the intention of finding a similar site in the area.

When the Children’s Centre moved out of Berwick Hills Primary School, all services that any family can access were relocated to neighbouring council Children’s Centres in the Brambles and Thorntree ward, and Park End. Targeted services, delivered in the homes of local families, were unaffected by the closure.

This consultation is to seek views of residents, families, and partner agencies on the decision to permanently close the facility, and views on the alternative model that was put in place. Ideas on alternative ways of delivering Children’s Centre services in East Middlesbrough are also welcomed.

The consultation starts on Friday 1 November and runs until Friday 31 January 2020.
