Guidance to Parents, Pupils, Schools and other appropriate professionals on the use of Part-Time or Reduced timetables

This guidance is intended to inform the pupil’s family, agencies and the school when a reduced timetable is being considered in order to ensure that the pupil is kept safe and receives the full-time education provision to which they are entitled and are capable of accessing.

“It is widely recognised that education is a protective factor for many vulnerable children. If children are in school and in engaged in education, they are not exposed to other risk factors.

It is therefore important that the focus should be on preventative early intervention and that the use of reduced timetables is kept to a minimum and only used as an exceptional measure”
