The Democracy Challenge, aims to engage young people with democracy and find out what really matters to them.

Research suggests that young people are disengaged from traditional political expression and 18-24 year olds are the age group least likely to be registered to vote in elections.

Yet we know that the number of young people engaged in social action is increasing, and that over three quarters (76%) of teenagers expressed a desire to participate in a high quality social action and volunteering programme according, to a recent Demos report.

This suggests that young people care very much about society – so how can we make democracy and politics more appealing?
