Child Maintenance Service
The Government Child Maintenance Service provides free, impartial information and support to help parents make informed decisions about child maintenance arrangements.
Child maintenance is about providing help with a child's everyday living costs. This includes things like food and clothes, and helping to provide a home for your child or children and it is usually money that the parent without the main day-to-day care of a child pays to the other parent.
Once a parent has contacted the service, child maintenance options are given and explained but the final decision is the parents.
The site provides a calculator to work out an amount of child maintenance for your children. It will not send your details to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Use the calculator.
